About Us
Tam Tam Rose was founded from a personal journey. After completing primary school, our founder lived with her grandmother in an underserved community. It was during this period that she discovered the joy of reading. Books became a refuge and a source of inspiration. While others were drawn into difficult environments, she stayed inside, reading and imagining a brighter future. She would share her dreams with her grandmother—dreams sparked by stories, knowledge, and imagination.
Tam Tam Rose was created to offer that same opportunity to children: access to books that open minds, create possibilities, and build resilience.

Our Work
Literacy Support & Book Access
We provide books that are carefully selected to match the age, context, and interests of the children we serve. These books are inclusive and respectful of different cultures and beliefs. We also prepare special school-start kits, including those tailored to left-handed children. We proudly name the schools and orphanages that trust us, recognizing their openness to collaboration.
Children Helping Children
In the schools we support, children actively help each other grow as readers. Older students often read to younger ones, help them understand stories, and participate in peer-to-peer reading activities. We organize reading competitions, poetry writing sessions, book quizzes, and even meetings with authors. These activities cultivate self-confidence, critical thinking, and a love of stories.
Teachers Helping Teachers
Our work also includes the ‘Teachers Helping Teachers’ initiative. Teachers share strategies, methods, and practical tips with each other to enrich the learning experience. We provide support to help them create inclusive classrooms where every child feels seen and supported.
Inclusion & Accessibility
Tam Tam Rose also offers materials designed for children with specific needs, including those with hearing or visual challenges. We take great care in selecting accessible formats to ensure no child is left behind. In addition, we are integrating digital tools into our work—offering access to interactive reading resources, apps, and guides. We are working towards a future where teachers and partners can log in to a special portal to access and share resources online.
Our History
August 2025
2008 – Ghana
Our very first donation: books given to a reading center in an underserved neighborhood in Accra. Tam Tam Rose was born from this first gesture of hope.
2020 – Côte d’Ivoire
We began by placing community book boxes (“boîtes à lire”) in underserved neighborhoods—creating spaces for children to access books freely and share stories.
2022 – Madagascar
During a business trip to Madagascar, our founder carried books in her suitcase. This led to visits to schools, an orphanage, and a youth center—and the beginning of our literacy outreach in Madagascar.
2023 – Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
Inspired by a girl featured on TV helping orphans, our founder contacted her and donated books to her orphanage, marking the beginning of our support in the DRC.
2024–2025 – Growth
Tam Tam Rose continues to expand through trust, collaboration, and a shared belief that reading changes lives.

Educators share strategies, ideas, and practical tips to improve inclusive and creative teaching practices.
Scholarships for Children
We provide scholarships to help children stay in school and dream bigger.

We listen and respond to specific needs from schools and educators—offering what they truly need to support their students.
Emotional & Social Skills
We run activities that promote self-esteem, empathy, emotional regulation, and confidence.
